meerhelm is a one-person software studio based in the European Union. I design and build the products listed on the home page, and take a small amount of consulting work on the side.

I focus on a narrow band of software: tools that solve a real, recurring problem for one person — not platforms that try to solve every problem for everyone.

Privacy is the default. Where data can stay on your device, it does. Where a backend is genuinely needed, it lives in the EU under GDPR and only stores what the product cannot work without.

Principles

    Privacy-first by default

    Privacy is the starting point, not a setting buried six menus deep. No tracking, no ad SDKs, no behavioural analytics, no data resale. Ever.

  2. 02

    Local-first when data is sensitive

    Your scans, your library, your documents — they stay on your device, encrypted, by default. Sync is opt-in, never the prerequisite.

  3. 03

    EU jurisdiction, GDPR-aligned

    The studio is based in the European Union. Where backends are genuinely required, they run on EU infrastructure under GDPR — with data minimisation as the rule, not the exception.

    No dark patterns

    No engagement bait, no fake urgency, no infinite feeds. The app does its job, then steps back.

  5. 05

    Finished, not feature-stuffed

    Solo studio means small surface area on purpose. Each product knows what it is, and what it isn't. New features have to earn their place.

    Cross-platform when it counts

    Flutter for mobile and desktop where it makes sense, native web where it makes sense. The user's choice of device is theirs to make.
