About
thebelarus.online is an open catalogue of independent Belarusian media. Today it indexes nearly 600 YouTube channels with handles, subscriber and view counts, topics, and recent uploads; Telegram, and later Facebook and other platforms, plug into the same schema.
The UI is bilingual — Belarusian by default, English a click away — with light and dark themes. There is no sign-up, no analytics, and no third-party SDK. Every channel and topic page is pre-rendered as static HTML so search engines and LLM crawlers see the catalogue without executing JavaScript.
Data is refreshed four times a day from the official YouTube Data API. The site is served as a static bundle from DigitalOcean App Platform in Frankfurt.
Highlights
Token-AND search across names, handles, keywords and Wikipedia topics. Filter by source, sort by subscribers, views, or recency.
Channels are grouped by Wikipedia topics — politics, lifestyle, music, news — each with its own pre-rendered landing page for SEO and LLM crawlers.
A dedicated 'Today' view aggregates the latest videos from across the catalogue, refreshed multiple times a day.
YouTube today; Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X drop into the same data shape with no UI rewrite — the site auto-builds source filters from the data.
No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no ad SDKs. The site is JSON and JavaScript over HTTPS, and that's the whole stack the visitor sees.
